I'm a freelance writer working with The New York Times, National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, The Washington Post, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, Offspring, GoodHouskeeping, Parents, Today's Parent, Healthday, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, and Allergic Living magazine, among other outlets. My recent story for PBS's NextAvenue was just selected as an editor favorite of 2019. I'm most interested in topics related to our global environment, culture, education and health— focusing on emotional and cognitive growth, as well as physical wellbeing—and I have a Masters' degree and years of related research and work experience in this field, for which I won an award for excellence, and a grant.

In addition to reported stories and essay, I also write and ghostwrite content for non-profits including Yale School of Medicine, Points of Light, and The Children's Health Fund, and occasionally teach creative writing and essay writing. Between 2013-2017, I wrote several hundred articles for an audience of 102 million unique visitors for CafeMedia.com, generating engaging content on parenting, health and food topics on tight deadlines. I've won an award and a fellowship for my non-fiction and analytical writing, and have published fiction in literary journals, too.
After dreaming of moving across the ocean for years, we've finally taken the plunge and recently relocated to coastal Spain, where my toddler has adopted a pet olive, named Olif, who sleeps in a size 2 rubber shoe. More on all these exciting developments muy pronto.
